Trebuchet Game
The original trebuchet (tre-bu-SHAY) was introduced to battlefields by the French in the twelfth century. As the most highly evolved version of a catapult-type weapon, the Trebuchet was considered the ultimate artillery weapon of its time. A battle ready trebuchet was able to hurl projectiles weighing up to 120 kg at enemy fortifications from secure positions well outside the range of the defender's archers. A range of 300 metres was not unusual for larger trebuchets. Massive rocks, bundles of burning hemp, dead and diseased animals, and occasionally an annoying serf or two, could be delivered to enemy fortifications with ease, making the trebuchet one of the world's first weapons of mass destruction.
